Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the original, with the orange tending more towards a curry colour. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is wear to all four corner tips and in places along all four extreme edges. There are hairline drying cracks in places scattered throughout the composition, notably in some of the navy areas of pigment. There are a few tiny fly spots scattered throughout the composition. There are very few tiny specks of loss to the composition, only visible upon very close inspection. There is a very fine vertical tension crack to the navy paint along the upper centre of the right edge. There is a small hole in the raw canvas in the top centre left of the turnover edge, only visible when unframed. No restoration is apparent under ultra-violet light.
