Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the original with the brown tending more towards a chocolate brown in the original. The catalogue illustration also fails to convey the optical effect of the protruding elements. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is very minor wear to all four corner tips and along the bottom and left hand edges. One of the nails has pierced the canvas towards the top centre of the composition. Another nail has partially pierced the canvas to the centre of the composition. There are four very faint rub marks: two to the lower centre of the right edge, one to the bottom right hand corner and a further one to the centre of the upper left hand quadrant. There are a few specks of white media accretion scattered along the left edge of the composition. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
