Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly lighter in the original. Condition: This work is in good condition. There are tiny specks of fly spots, light media accretions and spots of light staining scattered in places throughout the composition. There are several creases scattered throughout, some with associated cracks, most notably a network of craquelure towards the centre due to the canvas having previously been rolled and the thinness of the paint. There are faint rub marks towards the bottom left hand corner. There is a diagonal thin stain towards the lower left hand corner. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.

"Lo Savio's painting is luminous, shimmering, as if you could put your hand through it; and the lustreless metal seems to meld with the space surrounding it. As the surfaces recede, our eyes must chase them. We are made aware less of the thin planes than of the act of trying to locate and pin them down in space."
