Catalogue Note

"In a way, India is a red land... But that's not my main reason for choosing the colour. It's that, for me, red has always been the centre... It is, in a way, my red homeland - I mean me, as an artist." - Anish Kapoor (Ben Luke, "Pigments of the Imagination", London Telegraph, www.telegraph.co.uk, 2/18/2006)
