Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is richer and more vibrant, with the grey at the upper centre of the composition tending more towards pale green and the blue rectangle of the right side to turquoise green in the original. Condition: This work is in good condition. There are a few small media losses visible to the extreme edges including: to the left side of the upper extreme edge and to the left and right sides of the lower extreme edge. There are two fine feather cracks to the lower part of the lower left quadrant, two fine vertical cracks to the lower right quadrant and a number of fine hairline tension cracks to isolated places on the extreme edges. On close examination a small network of stable drying cracks is visible to the centre of the composition. There are three canvas protrusions to the centre and left side of the lower extreme edge and a very small canvas indentation to the lower part of the left extreme edge. There are a number of fine light rub marks: a faint horizontal mark in the upper right quadrant, a vertical mark to the left of the centre, one to the lower centre of the left extreme edge and a light rub mark to the upper centre of the right extreme edge. A few tiny fly spots are visible left of centre on the upper extreme edge. No restoration is apparent under ultra-violet light.
