Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is warmer in the original, with the red of the dots in the circle tending more towards orangy-red, the midnight blue of the outer row of circles more to true black, the burnt red of the background in the lower part more to burgundy red, the forest green of the second most outer row of circles in the lower part of the composition more to brownish-green. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are a number of intermittent faint horizontal stretcher marks approximately 30 cm. below and above the centre of the composition. There are a number of very fine unobtrusive tension cracks running intermittently along the four extreme overturn edges, which have resulted in a few minute specks of isolated paint loss. Also, a number of minute scattered unobtrusive specks of paint loss can be noticed upon close inspection throughout the composition. Some fine dust fibres have adhered to the work's surface. No restoration is apparent under UV light.
