Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is slightly richer and deeper in the original. The cool blue tonality of the foreground of (i) is warmer with the greens tending more toward grass green and the blue of the fabric collage in the lower part of (ii) more to deep true blue in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to convey fully the three dimensionality of the collage apparent in the original.
Condition:
(i) This work is in very good condition. There are two tiny material fibres adhering to the surface: one beneath the front umbrella to the left side, the other towards the upper left corner on the top edge. The lower right extreme corner tip is lifting very slightly. In raking light there are a few extremely light superficial handling marks to the vertical edges of the plexiglas frame and several fine surface scratches, notably in the lower left quadrant and in a few places elsewhere. Some extremely light dust fibres have collected inside the corners of the plexiglas.
