Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is richer and deeper in the original, with the whites in the catalogue tending more towards dove grey, the grey of the square more to dark cement grey, the black on the left side more to deep true black, and the pale grey on the right side more to clay grey in the original. The catalogue illustration does not fully convey the deeper saturation of colours apparent in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There are a few scattered pinprick-sized losses visible on close inspection to the black pigment and in a few places elsewhere. Upon close inspection there are two minute wood fibres adhering to the surface, one to the lower right of the top white rectangle, the other to the top of the lower left white shape, as well as a few fine surface dust fibres adhering in places. A tiny surface irregularity is present to the lower right quadrant. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
