Condition
The panel is generally sound. There is an area of horizontal cracking to the upper and lower edges of the work with resulting minor paint separation and craquelure (possibly due to extension of the panel). There are some further minor area of paint separation to the edges of the cat and to the edges of the dress. Minor craquelure in places and minor frame abrasion. Ultraviolet light reveals some minor spots of pigment discolouration but no signs of retouching. Held in a simple cream and gold-painted wood frame.
