Catalogue Note
The treatise was dedicated to Timur's grandson Pir Muhammad ibn 'Umar Shaykh, the ruler of Fars (1394-1409). The text is divided into six chapters that discuss bones, nerves, muscles, veins, arteries and the organs such as the heart, brain and eyes as well as the development of the embryo. Schmitz adds that although copies have been attributed to the 15th century, the earliest known dated copies are from the 1670s and 1680s (Schmitz 1992, no.II.22, pp.134-135).
