Calligraphy on verso signed as: mashshaqahu al-'abd almas
'Written by the servant (of God) Almas'
Two other works by Almas are recorded, neither dated: a calligraphic page attributed to the later 10th century (second half of the 16th) in a private collection in Tehran and another in the Salar Jung Museum and Library in Hyderabad. (Mehdi Bayani, ahval va asar-e khosh-nevisna, vol. IV, Tehran, 1358 sh., p. 39 & M. Ashraf, A Catalogue of the Arabic Manuscripts in the Salar Jung Museum & Library, II, The Glorious Qur'an, Its parts and Fragments, Hyderabad, 1962, p.34, no.211).
It bears the seal impression of a certain Haji Muhammad Masih Karbala'i dated 1212 (797-8).
