Description
of elongated rectangular form, the red ground embroidered with silver and silver-gilt metal threads, with a monumental calligraphic frieze bordered by minor bands of scrolls and chain pattern, the ends terminating in columns with strapwork and foliate scrolls in the interstices, flanked by floral sprays

'He ordered the renewal of this blessed belt and he is the most great Sultan and the exalted Emperor, the attendant of the two Noble Sanctuaries, Sultan Salim Khan the third, son of Sultan Mustafa Khan the third, may God make his reign and might and victory over the pure shar'ia eternal, Amen.' The year 12[2]1 (1806-07).'
