Arabic manuscript on paper on cream-coloured paper, 7 lines to the page written in elegant muhaqqaq script in gold, first fourth and seventh lines of text on each page written in a larger muhaqqaq/thuluth script, interlinear and intercolumnar rules in gold, diacritics and vowel points in blue, text interspersed with large illuminated rosettes and roundels, in mount, framed

Catalogue Note
Two leaves from the same Qur'an are in the Nasser D. Khalili Collection. According to David James a similar Qur'an section which in the Pars Museum, Shiraz, MS 217, bears an endowment inscription giving the name of Jalal al-Din Mas'ud ibn 'Ala'al-Din Muhammad and the date A.H.[8]74/A.D.1469-70 which can be used as terminus ante quem. Another section of the same Qur'an is in the Astan-i Quds Library, Mashhad, cat 30 (James 1992, p.140-141).
