- A Roman Marble Cinerary Urn
- 6 1/2 by 10 5/8 by 7 1/4 in. 16.5 by 27 by 18.4 cm.
of rectangular form, carved in front with two confronted couchant bird-headed marine monsters, each with their tail coiled around a rudder, on either side of a shell medallion wih fragmentary portrait bust, a panel above engraved with six lines of Latin inscription translating "For Cannutia Decima, daughter of C(aius), excellent woman, (well-)deserving, C(aius) Curvius Successus (had this) made. She lived [...] years [...] months [...]," one short side carved in shallow relief with a figure of Pegasus, the other with a vase with broad gadrooned body and high handles.
