  • A Wood Mummy Mask
  • Height 7 in. 17.8 cm.
from an anthropoid coffin, the central portion of the wig remaining, his face with finely outlined lips, indented philtrum, and broad straight nose, the eyes and long cosmetic lines and eyebrows recessed for inlay, a rectangular hole under the chin for insertion of the missing beard; remains of gesso and pigment.

Condition

very good, there are remains of inlay material in eyebrows and eyes as well as small patches of gessoed linen in various places, including in front and on top of wig, below lower lip, and below proper left cheek
