Description

  • A Marble Figure of Hygeia
  • Height 30 1/2 in. 77.5 cm.
the goddess of health standing with her weight on the right leg and holding a serpent in her right hand, her missing left hand formerly holding a phiale, and wearing sandals, pleated chiton, and himation falling from the left shoulder and wrapped around the waist.

Fragmentary as shown, back is roughly carved and less polished than front, small chips, scratches, and abrasions overall, note fresh chips on garment in area of proper right knee
