- A Marble Head of an Amazon
- Height 3 1/2 in. 8.9 cm.
after the statue called the Sosikles Amazon, a Greek original of the 5th Century B.C. attributed to Polykleitos, gazing down to her right, with oval face and centrally parted wavy hair.

Good and as shown, note missing nose and abraded chin and mouth, proper right side of face lightly encrusted, small nicks and minor abrasions overall

The present head is the only known miniature example of the Sosikles Amazon, which in recent literature has also been attributed to the sculptor Kresilas; see R.
