- A Steatite Head of a Ram
- Height from modern base 3 1/2 in. 8.9 cm.
probably a scepter finial, wearing a broad collar and striated tripartite wig, with ribbed forward-curving horns and finely carved eyes, a hole on top of the head for insertion of the missing crown, another smaller hole in front for insertion of the missing uraeus, the tail of the uraeus visible behind, a trapezoidal dowel hole on the right side of the wig, an arched recess behind each lappet of the wig.

private collection, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, acquired in the early 1970's
Condition
Snout, jaws, tip of proper right ear, and parts of proper right horn missing as shown, ear missing altogether and horn more fragmentary on side not shown, light abrasions and scratches overall, small chips and scratches on back of wig, object is cemented to metal base
