In a letter written circa 1976 Prof. Hans Jucker, of the University of Bern, notes close similarities between the present head and another, "certainly from Magna Graecia, perhaps from Taranto," which was found in Rome in the Forum Romanum: E. Paribeni, Atti Soc. Magna Graecia, NS, vol. 1, 1954, p. 69f., figs. 32-34, and A. De Franciscis, Römische Mitteilungen, vol. 63, 1960, p. 25, pl. 8,1.
