Catalogue Note
Executed in early 1922, this work is one of sixteen illustrations Bellows was commissioned by Century Magazine to create for popular Irish author, Donn Byrne's novel, The Wind Bloweth. His illustrations were so well-received that later in the year he received another commission from Hearst International Magazine to illustrate the serialized version of H.G. Wells' Men Like Gods.
