- Lengths: 45.5 cm, 66.5 cm
the diminutive example carved in fig wood of ovoid form, the front with raised boss decorated with traditional designs in red, yellow and white earth pigments outlined in black, the reverse undecorated with deep-cut lug handle, the boomerang carved in dark hardwood of plano-convex section, the upper surface replete with fiddle-back markings at the striking end with fine, linear striations running horizontally to the throwing end on one side, some traces of old, red earth pigments, and old shiny patina
Condition
The pigments have faded and the edges are worn on the rainforest shield. The shield has some small holed from insect damage and dents from battle scarring. There are no visible repairs or restoration to the rainforest shield.
