Description
- Tiffany Studios
- "Elizabethan" Table Lamp
- shade stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS NY 1954
- gilt-bronze and leaded glass
Condition
Generally very good overall condition. The colors are slightly deeper and darker in person when compared to the catalogue illustration. The shade has overall surface dirt and patina from age and would benefit from a proper cleaning. Approximately seven cracked tiles scattered throughout the work and thus do not detract from the overall composition. The base has been polished and has some darkening overall. The base is fitted with a diffuser ring which is suspended from the riser on four chains and is thus easily removed. The lamp has been re-wired, but the sockets and switches are original. The cap has some bending and would benefit from adjustment. The present owner was given this lamp in the early 1950s from a family friend who had purchased the lamp when new. The present lot is in relatively untouched estate condition with only two previous owners.
