Condition
The canvas is in good original condition. There are some artist's pinholes in the bottom right corner.
There are a few very tiny lines of faint craquelure in the upper left quadrant which appear to have been caused by th pressing of the stretcher bar against the verso but the paint surface is otherwise in good overall condition.
Examination under ultra-violet light reveals scattered areas of fluorescence but these appear to be the artist's varied used of pigment rather than retouching.
Held in a gilded and painted composition frame.
