The canvas has been relined. There are sections of craquelure towards the left and right edges, and the centre of the work. There is some minor paint loss to the centre and the left edge. Held in a decorative gilt frame with a hessian slip.
Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals patches of retouching within the sky and various spots in the foreground, especially to the right edge.
