There is a protruding object within the upper left corner, and another within the lower left and right quadrant. There is an inconsistency in the surface of the paint to the shoulder of the left sitter and by the foot of the right sitter. The surface of the work is dirty and would benefit from a professional clean. Held in a pale, gilt wood and plaster frame. Unexamined out of its frame. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a spot of retouching to the protruding object within the upper left corner, and to the shoulder of the left sitter.
