Condition
Work on first canvas.
From a first hand inspection the canvas has patches on the back corresponding to scratch of the canvas: one in the middle on the right-hand side (cm 35 circa) and other two minor, one in the middle on the left-hand side cm 20 from the edge and a vertical one lower in the middle (all visible).
Other small losses are in the lower right-hand corner. There are small brownish spots over the surface certainly due to a home made cleansing done with an onion.
The ultra violet light reveals a light fluorescent varnish dishomogeneously spread but does not emphasized the retouches over the scratches.
It is suggested a nice cleansing and restoration to recover the original pigments under the old restoration.
The overall condition as to the state of preservation is good.
