Catalogue Note
Fils aîné de Federico de Madrazo y Kuntz, Raimundo apprit la peinture grâce à son père et à son grand-père Jose de Madrazo, avant de venir étudier à Paris en 1860, où il fut élève de Léon Coignet. Portraitiste très célèbre, il a aussi exécuté des vues d'intérieur et des petites scènes de genre dans lesquelles on sent l'influence de son beau frère Mariano Fortuny, dont il était très proche.
