the top originally fitted with a silk lining, the finely cast pierced gallery above two cupboard doors decorated with a putto allegorical of triumphant love and opening to a silk lined interior with two shelves, the apron centered by an acanthus and floral cast mount stamped HD within an oval.
Condition
Overall in good condition with the usual minor scratches, dents and nicks consistent with age and use. Slight tarnishing to gilt-bronze in places. As stated in the cataloguing, the silk originally lining the top is now missing and the oak carcass is revealed. The back still with its silk but it is now torn and lacks half of the lining. The vernis Martin with craquelure to decor, cracks and minor loss to paint now showing the undercoat.
