hung from a coronet with three acanthus cast leaves and twisted molded glass and gilt-bronze supports, the circular cage flanked by three cupids holding five acanthus cast branches, each flanked by further acanthus cast three light candelarms, the crystal sphere has been removed to reveal the Baccarat seal, drip pans inscribed BACCARAT

Condition

The gilt-bronze with the usual corrosion and tarnishing although the two tone burnishing to cupids is still present. It is possible that the present chandelier has been transformed over time usuing a new twisted glass cup and hanging sphere. However, those changes cannot be fully confirmed and we would recommend to the potential buyer to inspect the lot themselves before purchasing. The Baccarat Museum in Paris was contacted to confirm its design but an answer was not recieved by the time of catalogue production. The crystal beaded garlands are original to the chandelier but some have been transformed in length over time. There are 11 beaded garlands ending in a larger crystal ball, 2 glass drip pans, and 4 beaded sprays from the coronet detached but available in a bag. The beaded sprays will need to be re-soldered back to the piece. There is one pear shaped drop as well that is available in the bag that is from one of the drip pans.
