A pair of Louis XVI style gilt-bronze mounted Sèvres style cobalt blue ground and jewelled lidded vases Paris, circa 1885

each surmounted by a lid with a pinecone finial and painted in the round with seventeenth century companions to the front and a herd of goats to the reverse, all within gilt highlight decoration and turquoise jewelled beading, one vase showing the interlaced L and letter A to the underside of the base. 

One lid is a later replacement. The laurel molded porcelain gilded frieze above shoulder has been redecorated. One vase with two turqoise beads missing. Minor wear to gilt decor.
