Description

  • height 26 in.
  • 66 cm
painted with 'The Trumpeter's Love Song' reserved within a gilt-edged oval panel on a blue-green ground interrupting an elaborate gilt foliate scroll-edged fruiting grapevine band around the body affixed on either side with a gilt scroll and laurel wreath handle and raised on a square base, pseudo shield mark in blue, title and impressed pattern marks. Minor restoration.

Condition

The rim of the vase is re-gilt and oversprayed down to the shoulder, possibly covering chips, haircracks or breaks - it is not possible to fully determine the extent of the damage beneath the restoration. Minor wear to gilding.
