painted by and signed F^{x Bellanger}, decorated in the round, the front with a nymph attended by Cupid and the back with Cupid amongst roses. 

The collar of the lid is detached from the rim. Overall in good condition with the usual minor wear to gilt highlights and tarnshing to gilt-bronze. Very minor hairline scratches to the painted surface.
