A MEISSEN LARGE CLOCKCASE AND STAND LATE 19TH CENTURY

  • 54 cm
each on four scroll feet and encrusted with flowers, the clockcase modelled with three cherubs, one playing a lyre, the other two twining a garland around a golden winged orb seated above the circular enamel dial, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue. Some chips and restoration.

Condition

Please note that this report addresses the condition of the porcelain only. One wing of one cherub is restored; typical minor chips. losses and restored chips to the applied flowers and leaves; minor firing tear across the back of the clock above the legs and a second minor short firing tear to the shell-molded side of the clock. Otherwise in generally good condition.
