the rectangular salmon marble top above a frieze drawer and a pair of cupboard doors, on cabriole legs ending in acanthus cast paw sabots, the lockplate to the drawer stamped SORMANI PARIS / 134 Bd Haussmann. The reverse with a paper label inscribed Direccion General de Blibliotecas, Museos, / Monumentos Nacionales y Archivos.- / Autorizado para salir del Pais, / segun informe No 101 / de 30 da Dec de 1947.
Condition
Overall good condition; the marble top with some old repaired breaks with areas of infilling to the top, the underside with braces, the edges with some minor chips and wear; the gilt-bronze slightly dirty and with some rubbing and wear with minor pitting in places; the decoration with some restoration and inpainting in places and with minor areas of lifting and loss; the front panels with small age cracks, the right panel with small water spots.
