each modelled with a scantily draped cherub allegorical of either Art or Industry, standing above three scallop shell-shaped bowls, each with impressed shape number 906 and year code for 1861 or 1866, Industry also with impressed MINTON and the letter A. Some restoration.

Condition

Industry: The end section of his hammer is restored; the leading edge of one of the shells is restored. Art: The figure has been off the base and restored back on - the restoration is well done; one shell is extensively restored.

Shape number 906 is recorded in the Minton Ornamental Shape books as "Tray for bonbons, three compartments in form of scallop shells and modelled figure and motifs to represent art". A third version of this form is known, bearing the same shape number, but with a figure allegorical of Science.
