STRUCTURE
This picture is relined and in very good condition with bright colours and fine detail throughout.
CATALOGUE COMPARISON
The catalogue illustration is broadly representative but the colours are slightly richer in reality.
PAINT SURFACE
There are no signs of craquelure and the paint surface appears to be stable. The picture is clean and ready to hang.
UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
There is a very small area of retouching behind the tail of the rooster. This has been well executed and is not visible to the naked eye.
FRAME
This picture is contained in a moulded plaster sweep frame.
