The paint surface is in good overall condition but would beneift from a light clean.

Catalogue Note
When this picture was exhibited at the Royal Academy as the young Landseer's second exhibit there in 1832, it was accompanied by a description which reads; 'The gentleman, however, who brought the slipper, turned round and looked at Cinderella, and observing that she was very handsome, said, that as he was ordered by the prince to try it on the foot of every one till he found her whom it fitted, it was but just that Cinderella should have her turn. Saying this, he made her sit down, and putting the slipper to her foot it instantly slipped in, and he saw it fitted like wax.'
