Condition

STRUCTURE: Relined. SURFACE: The surface is very dirty and should benefit from cleaning. Cracquelure appears mainly in the sky. Old restorations are apparent and have discoloured, this is mostly evident along the top edge of the painting. UV LIGHT: Under UV old restorations appear along the top edge. Otherwise this painting is difficult to read under UV light due to the varnish and recommend you receive an independent restorers report on this particular painting. FRAME: Contained in a carved gilt painted wood frame. COLOUR COMPARISON: The colours are slightly darker than the catalogue illustration suggests.
