Condition

STRUCTURE: Unlined. SURFACE: The surface appears to be dirty with an uneven and discoloured varnish. Also areas of light blooming appear in the upper right corner. Frame abrasions appear to the upper right edge and along the lower edge. There are traces of craquelure to the lower right quarter and a faint stretcher mark near the lower edge. UV LIGHT: Under UV there appears to be no signs of retouching or restoration. FRAME: Contained in a plaster moulded gilt and painted frame (damaged in the lower left border). COLOUR COMPARISON The general tone is paler than the catalogue illustration suggests.
