Condition

STRUCTURE: Relined. Red tape has been attached to the canvas and stretcher around the edges. SURFACE: The paint surface appears to be stable although there is surface craquelure which appears throughout the canvas (mainly vertical craquelure) and it is possible that this painting was rolled prior to relining. UV LIGHT: Under UV Light there is no evidence of any old retouchings. FRAME: The painting is unframed. COLOUR COMPARISON: The colours are not as bright as the catalogue illustration suggests. The original has much warmer tones.
