Condition

STRUCTURE: Unlined. SURFACE: The paint surface appears to be stable with some minor cracquelure appearing in some of the darker pigments. The painting appears to be dirty and should benefit from cleaning. UV LIGHT: Under UV Light there is some light sweeping restoration in between the flowers and the edge in the lower right and lower left corners and some minor retouchings appear on the red rose to the right of the urn and some flecked spot retouchings further to the right where the paint has separated and been filled and retouched by a restorer. FRAME: Contained in a modern gilt frame with linen insert. COLOUR COMPARISON: The catalogue illustration compares well to the original painting.
