padoukwood, on circular cabriole legs with pad feet

Condition

Generally of good appearance with attractive patina. Very heavy and of firm stance. Some typical separations and partial split apparent on the central section of the top. One of these separations with very slight fragmenting. There is a typical small old repair on one of the two rule mouldings of the central stop section and to the rim of the leaves on these sites. Top surfaces with some minor indents and marks commensurate with age and use. Some expected scuffing to legs and feet. One foot with subtle spliced repair. One veneered freize with a small repair of unmatched colour. The opposing freize and visible in the catalogue image has a detached section of veneer which is selotaped to the underside. This freize also with slight chipped veneer at one corner, this veneer is lacking. One leaf with repaired or replaced board near to the hinge along the hinge site. Each leaf has four hinges and one of the hinges on this repaired leaf is lacking screws. The underside of this central section has some bypical later batons to secure the separations. This lot is an attractive, honest and practical table that betrays some typical history of domestic use.
