Catalogue Note
Built in 1816, the Ha'penny bridge is one of the world's oldest cast-iron bridges and was designed by John Windsor and manufactured in Coalbrookdale, Shropshire. It was originally called Wellingtonbridge and earned its name from the fee that was charged to cross until 1919.
