Anju Chaudhuri b. 1944 Blue II

Born into an intellectual Bengali family, Chaudhuri studied in India, London and Paris where this particular piece was painted and where she has lived since the 1960s. Collections of her work can be found in the Victoria and Albert Museum London and the National Museum of Modern Art, Paris. This painting was recently featured in a BBC documentary on Indian art abroad.

This work was painted in 1969.
