Description

the voluptuous female deity standing amidst swirling waves and floating red lotus pods with her body swayed to one side and her head turned in the other direction, dressed in flowing red and green robes layered beneath a shawl and scarves shown fluttering in the celestial breezes, bejeweled with a long lattice of pendant beads and ornaments below an elaborate tiara with 'flaming' tips silhouetted against a mandorla of radiating red and green bands, holding in her right hand a flowering bud swathed in a red cloth around the long stem, with her left hand with pliant fingers held in elegant gesture, her plump face with supple chin delicately painted with full fleshy red lips and thin bow-shaped eyes, below her hair swept up into a high topknot, mounted on a wood panel

Provenance
