Description

the monastic robes draped over the left shoulder, the round face showing a peaceful expression with an urna carved in relief between arched eyebrows, the wavy hair pulled back and a large halo behind the head

Condition

References are true right and true left. The halo is chipped around the edge and sliced diagonally and unevenly on the left side. The usnisha is broken, the nose chipped along the ridge and the face has a crack running down the left side from the top of the head to the neck. The piece is cleanly sliced across the chest, a semi-circular section on the chest is chipped away, possibly where the hands were placed, the right arm broken at the shoulder. Overall chips, some exfoliation and soil incrustation. No restoration.
