Description

standing on a molded bronze pedestal, wearing monastic robes draped to leave the right shoulder bare, the edge covering the left arm to the wrist. The undercloth can be seen emerging from below the lower hem of the robe. The left hand holds a large loop of the garment while the right hand forms vitarkamudra. A gold wire attached at the shoulders denotes a halo surrounding his head. The face is well defined with sharp, large features and the hair is arranged in curls topped by a circular knob

Condition

Gold Buddha in very good overall condition, some dark accretion on the right side at the back. Minor cracks in the surface and soil deposits. Bronze pedestal is heavily oxidized. No restoration.
