Condition

The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This painting is in lovely condition. The canvas has an old glue lining and the canvas still seems to be stretched on its original stretcher. The paint layer is nicely stabilized, although the cracking is very slightly raised. The paint layer is most likely clean and has been varnished. The only apparent restoration is on the thigh of the front leg of the black horse on the left side. Elsewhere there are no restorations or abrasions and although the picture may be slightly dirty, it is also ready to be hung as is.
