Condition
STRUCTURE
This picture is in excellent condition with clear colouring throughout. The paint surface is stable and clean and there are no signs of craquelure. The board is flat and there are no signs of warping. The picture is ready to hang.
UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
There are minor flecked retouchings in the water and the background and there is a diagonal line of retouching through the water and riverbank behind the figure. The signature may have been strengthened.
FRAME
This picture is contained in a simple gilt banded frame and under glass.
