  • 31.75 by 26.75cm., 12½ by 10½in
inset into a new panel in the 19th century, held in a fine later silver, enamel and filigree oklad cast and chased with complimentary architectural detail, the Virgin, Ioachim and Anne's robes highlighted in filigree, with cloisonné enamel halos and cornerpieces, scrolling foliate border, marked V.S. Salamatin in Cyrillic, 1899-1908, 84 standard

Condition

The panel has two struts to the reverse, there is a repaired split 8cm from the l.r. corner running 7cm up. There are lines of craqulure and overpainting to some of these lines, particularly visible on Anne's bed. There is overpainting to her halo. Overpainting to the sleeve of girl l.r. and face of Salamei l.l. The red borders have been painted recently. The Oklad is secured at the corners with modern staples. Dents at the edges as would be expect and one crack to the top right corner. The silver is slightly tarnished at the edges. Small chips to the enamels on the lower right, upper left and upper right corners. We would advise propsective buyers to view.
